The Cameron Automation Rack & Stack
The Rack & Stack is the second generation of Cameron Automation’s Flooring Nesters. Designed to nest flooring strips up to 5″ wide and bundles up to 7.5′ long, the Rack & Stack is 20% more productive, takes up 1/2 the space, and requires less operator intervention than our previous designs.
What Does the Machine Do?
The Cameron Rack & Stack creates accurate nested flooring bundles. Graders feed random lengths of material into one end of the machine, and the Rack & Stack releases a consistent, nested bundle of flooring out the opposite end. Most importantly, it creates bundles the exact square footage you want to sell, increasing your profits by up to 2.5%. A 2.5% yield savings equates to one extra bundle for every 40 you ship!
What does the software do?
Cameron software is written and supported at our factory in Poughkeepsie, NY. This enables us to provide our customers with updates, changes, and upgrades quickly and often at no charge. In house programmers allow us to react to our customer’s needs rapidly. The software is intuitive, easy to understand.

Advantages over Hand Nesting
Flooring strips of random length enter the machine where they are measured for length. Strips are released by two sets of stops onto the main conveyor. At precisely the right time, a strip is scooped off of the main conveyor by an innovative lifting system. A computer processes the lengths of the strips to determine which combination of strips will produce an accurate length row. The machine constantly picks up and puts down strips to create rows. Rows are accumulated on the outfeed to create layers on the outfeed table. Layers are stripped off of the outfeed table to create bundles. Completed bundles are pushed off of the outfeed onto a conveyor, ready for strapping and packaging.
Automatic Belt, Automatic Strapper, and an Automatic Kicking Station
Complementing the Cameron Flooring Nester, the Cameron Automation Automated Strapping Line saves labor to the final step in your nested bundle flooring line. Using a touch screen interface to specify the length of bundles and number of straps needed, the conveyor line automatically advances the nested bundle from the Flooring Nester to the strapping machine, straps the appropriate number of straps and then moves the bundle ahead to the kicker station. The bundle is then kicked into the accumulating station. A single operator can manage several systems which reduces labor and increases profitability.
