The Plate Spreader is ideal for use with small to medium (6 section to 20 section) sized Clamp Carriers. It is a simple, rugged design, yet it mechanizes the glue application operation.

The glue spreader is built with an aluminum grid and stainless steel pan. The grid is stationary and immersed in the reservoir of glue. The glue pan is spring loaded upward.  The operator presses the foot treadle to the floor, lowering the pan of glue and exposing the grid. The stock to be glued is placed on the grid and a uniform coat of adhesive is transferred to the stock.

The treadle is released, and the pan rises and once again immerses the grid. The Plate Spreader is 4’ long but when the treadle is depressed and the pan lowered, the grid is completely exposed so longer stock can be step coated.

In the evening, no clean up is required. Simply use the anodizing bottle that comes with the machine to apply a light film of water over the glue. Then, place the cover over the glue pan to keep the glue moist. There is no clean up!

Precise and adjustable glue spread: The Taylor Roller Spreader is equipped with a fully adjustable live doctor roll. The doctor roll spins in the opposite direction (from the glue roll) which provides a controllable even spread.

Attaining the proper glue spread thickness is very important. Too much or too little glue spread will weaken glue joints. Also, too much glue wastes money, slows production and creates more “clean up time” for both the applicator and the Clamp Carrier.

The Taylor Conveyorized Glue Applicator with Return Conveyor is an automated glue application and stock handling system. The system applies adhesive to the wood stock before clamping, and returns glued panels to be stacked.

Applicators come equipped with a large infeed roller which allows operators to roll stock onto the infeed end. The Glue Applicator conveyer is started and stopped automatically via an electric eye either at its infeed end or at its outfeed end. Glue is applied by the glue roll located in the center of the machine. A live Stainless Steel Doctor Roll insures a complete and even adhesive coating. The Doctor Roll is adjusted by thumb screws which regulate glue coat thickness. This reduces waste, clean up time and glue costs.

A safety slip clutch protects the conveyor chain against damage when careless operation results in wood jamming the conveyor. This feature reduces down time and is self-healing so machine returns to normal function once the jammed stock is removed.
EASY CLEAN UP:

Daily: The Conveyorized Glue Applicator is equipped with a stainless steel glue pan cover. Our system seals the glue area and keeps the glue roll moist. Nightly storage of adhesive minimizes clean up time and extends production time 1/2 hour per machine per day.

Weekend: The Taylor system again minimizes clean up. The Applicator features a removable glue roll. The glue pan and roll are easily removed, cleaned and replaced, ready for production the following week.
