Taylor's Equalizer™ Technology
All Taylor clamps feature the strong and versatile Equalizer™ Technology. The design has three main features:

1. Both the front and rear jaws are angled in for controlled clamping. The "toe in" adds a little down pressure to prevent bowing.

2. The Equalizer™ design also allows the front and rear jaws to equalize the pressure on both sides of the panel. If non straight glue joints must be drawn together, equal pressure from both sides will produce a panel with lower stress.

3. Our quick engagement rear jaws allow the operator to change panel widths instantly. The special mounting plates provide for easy side to side repositioning for changing panel lengths. This eliminates set up time and reduces costs for short production runs.

Reliability
Taylor's clamp screw threads are completely covered, preventing glue buildup and subsequent nut breakage. Our clamps are precision robot-welded for maximum strength and consistency. We use "bright" steel on clamp bodies to minimize glue buildup, therefore maximizing panel flatness. Our clamp jaws are angled in 1 degree to minimize bowing and buckling of panels. Our clamp drawbars are designed with a precise spring steel cross-sectional area. This allows the drawbars to stretch like extension springs when the clamps are tightened. This "spring action" maintains consistent clamping force on the glued panels as the glue dries. Without this "spring action", the panels that shrink during glue curing, would fall out of the clamps as they travel up the back side of the machine.

Clamp Accessories

Holddown Bars
  Holddown Bars
Holddown bars are designed for edge gluing thin panels (less than 3/4"). They prevent the boards from springing out of the clamps during tightening and curing. They are easily removed when not needed.

Rocker Plates
  Rocker Plates
Rocker plates are used for laminating and are needed for two reasons. First, they extend the height of the jaws to cover the full thickness of the material. Second, because our clamps have "toe-in", rocker plates are necessary to evenly distribute the clamping force from top to bottom. They can be installed or removed in seconds.
