Mid Hudson Bridge in Poughkeepsie, NYCameron Automation, located in Poughkeepsie, NY, is a division of the James L. Taylor Mfg. Co. In an effort to service customers and the industry better, Cameron Automation was developed in January 2002 to focus on the development of high tech machinery for the wood working industry. While the company is new, the reputation and roots of this division have been firmly planted for many years.

Automated Opti-RipBoth the Standard Opti-Rip and the Automated Opti-Rip, machines that were trend setters in the Taylor division, were set apart and placed into Cameron Automation. Since taking over the Automated Opti-Rip, Cameron Automation has completely redesigned the Automated Opti-Rip with a new operating system. The new systemQuick Rip has incorporated many features that our customers had been requesting. The Standard Opti-Rip has since been replaced by the Quick Rip. The Quick Rip is a more compact version of the Automated Opti-Rip that is hand fed and requires less material handling. The Quick Rip can expand with your busniess to an Automated Opti-Rip.

Opti-MatchA revolutionary new machine was also developed at Cameron Automation. The Opti-Match is the only machine to completely automate the color matching process for high quality solid wood panels. This is a machine that our customers have been asking for for over a decade.

The Opti-Match combines innovative scanning and sorting technology with complex computer programs to build and stack sized, color matched, and color blended panels, automatically. It completely eliminates the labor intensive and subjective job of manual color matching.

Quick ChopTo complete the rough mill family, the Quick Chop was next logical addition to the Cameron Automation product line. A complete and affordable optimizing push feed chop saw, the Quick Chop is unquestionably the most machine for your money with the same features of machines that cost twice as much.

The Integrated Rough Mill System allows for multiple Quick Chops to communicate with each other and collectively work on jobs as well as communicate with a Quick Rip or Automated Opti-Rip within the plant for maximum yield.

Cameron Automation will continually develop smarter machines for higher yield utilizing less labor.
